How can the cute little hedgehog save the planet? Well, according to ecologist, author and hedgehog lover, Hugh Warwick – and the Beatles – All We Need is Love. We just need to fall in love with this little creature and that love will fire us up to protect not just this tiny animal but also the planet. In this episode of the MetroWild podcast, Hugh is our love guru – he tells MetroWild host and author Yang-May Ooi, all about his great paramour, the humble hedgehog, and how we can successfully date and build a long-term romance with all things hedgehog.
Hugh Warwick is an ecologist and author. He is also spokesperson for The British Hedgehog Preservation Society and the creator of the Hedgehog Highways petition. His books include A Prickly Affair, Beauty in the Beast and Linescapes. He has been on the BBC countless times and written for their Wildlife Magazine, The Guardian and Countryfile Magazine.
