How can we maintain our creativity during Covid lockdown? Could this crisis be an opportunity for creative renewal for creative organisations as well as individuals? Cultural commentator Joanne Ooi joins Yang-May Ooi on Creative Conversations to talk about Covid and Creativity.
Joanne Ooi on Covid and Creativity CCV0303 ¦ Creative Conversations [podcast]
My cousin Joanne grew up in America while I grew up in the UK and we both became lawyers – and we both escaped the law in our own ways. We’ve both had alternative careers in the arts and done TEDx talks. While I am became an author, writer/ performer and podcaster, Joanne’s career has taken her into fashion and environmental change and she is now a vlogger, marketeer, writer and cultural commentator.
Whenever we get together, we talk animatedly and vigorously, hardly taking a breath – excitedly covering issues that are obsessing us, family, relationships, life, the universe and everything. We tease each other and never allow the other one to take themselves too seriously.
During one of our get-togethers which included our siblings and other cousins, we hardly allowed anyone else to speak especially as Joanne was talking passionately about Covid and the arts – so I thought I would spare the others and invite her on to Creative Conversations, especially as she has some thought-provoking views that I hope you will find engaging.
